PAPUA NEW GUINEA – HARMONY MINES

Hidden Valley – open pit gold and silver mine

The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, jointly owned and managed as part of the joint venture between Harmony and Newcrest Mining Limited (50:50).

The mine is situated in the highly prospective area of the Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea, some 210 Kilometres northwest of Port Moresby.

Spaceframe China’s scope consisted of shop detailing, supply, fabrication, packaging and delivery of structural steelworks including stairs, ladders, handrails, bolts and some ancillary pre-engineered metal buildings.

Due to the highly corrosive processes involved in some areas of the project, the structural steel required a high level surface protection with dry film paint thickness up to 450µm

2,200 tonnes of steel fabricated in over 5,000 unique assemblies
130 containers packed for rough terrain transportation
Break bulk packaging for over – sized modules
